Life out on the road.
So here we are 1 week and 2 days into the journey. Life out on the road has been hard. We've been fighting the elements for at least six days, trying to just stay dry, has been a chore. Hiking on the A.T. in the Virginia Mountains. We have on a positive note, met some interesting people along the way. There is something going on way down inside of my Spirit, I feel more calm and more reverent about people now. I think the hike is giving me the time needed to sort things out. We've been through the hell of everyday rigors, such as work and bills and traffic ewwwww lol. Now we are faced with the exact opposite, which also has its stresses. Now there are no time lines or deadlines to meet and we can get there when we get there. I now have a full beard and smell like the outdoors, (In a good way though lol). I am going to try and write more and get a little more creative with that, as I'm not a good writer yet. My other half is MUCH better then I, at this writing thing. Her blog is at "The freedomtrekker.blogspot.com. She is way more descriptive and fluid in her style. Great companion to have along with this site. We compliment each other that way. It's already starting to get cold out here, something we really aren't prepared for. I think we are going to hightail it south. I've been Shaving gear everyday, when we left I had a 60lb Pack now its down to approximately 49 lbs. Hooray for me aching back. The Kelty Pack holds everything I could imagine in it. On a side note, That little HoBo stove is AWESOME. You can boil water and cook a meal inn no time as long as you have good stuff to burn in it, it will also keep you warm if your chilled up on a mountain top. I think I'm gonna make another one that's a bit larger though. With a platform to hold it higher up off the ground. This way its safe, and easier to load and maintain a good fire in.
